Diamondback Firearms DB380
I had a Keltec P3AT on order with my gun guy. These were on a major backorder through his distributor and it looked like several weeks before I'd get my mitts on one. In the meantime, he ordered a Diamondback Firearms DB380 for me to look at. Diamondback is a relatively new gun manufacturer and they have a ex-Keltec engineer who took the P3AT design and upgraded it. My dealer has heard some very good buzz about this little .380 and was curious to see one and see what I thought about it. He called me earlier in the week and kept saying "XXXX, this thing is sweeet, if you don't take it, I will!"
http://www.diamondbackfirearms.com/ Well, I went down there today and he was right. Everything about this pistol is an improvement over the P3AT; grips, (real) adjustable sights, trigger, metal slide rails. It still fits the footprint and is very close to the weight of the P3AT. His price to me was $60 more than the P3AT, but the difference in fit and finish made it very well worth it. I'll post some pics of it soon and a range report, but take a look at their website for now. http://www.diamondbackfirearms.com/ Today was a good day, picked up a 2nd 10/22 today too. Can't have too many .22 rifles, right? |
Re: Diamondback Firearms DB380
I'm liking the steel trigger assembly. I'm not seeing much point in adjustable sights but don't find any complaint with them either. Wondering if it will run some of the longer nosed rounds that will jam up a LCP or some of the bigger gapped HPs that will jam up a P3AT.
